A Thought
So I really need to think about the focus of my piece, and that should be able to help me come up with an appropriate story. The main point of the film is that there is a guitarist on a roof playing music. What is happening is that there is a musician playing an original piece of music, complemented by the visually appealing modeling / lighting of the cityscape and the overall look and feel of the piece. I should avoid getting hung up on what happens while he or she is out there - I already know what happens.
What might be interesting could be exploring why the guitarist is out there. Maybe begin the film with before the musician goes outside, set up something like a party in the background, a phonecall, a short conversation that is vague but gives the audience just enough of the details as to why the musician would want to escape to the rooftop to get lost in their music.
As for the main part of the film, I should be focusing on the 3-D effects that I want to showcase - the modeling and lighting of the scene and the overall mood of the film. Maybe I could do something where a transformation of some kind is ongoing in the background as the musician plays their song.

Story Beats (Continued)
New Story Beats:
- Musician singing on the roof
- Window opens, hear a voice: "Hey You!" like he is going to yell at the musician to keep it down.
- Then the man throws a guitar at the musician from off-screen
- Musician catches it and starts playing

- Tagger sprays grafitti on nearby rooftop wall

Treatment Statement
Here is my treatment statement for my Thesis project. As of now I am still undecided as to what exactly the story will be, but the premise is that there is a musician playing guitar on a rooftop in New York City. Some good ideas were brought up in class this week as to what could happen. The one I really liked was that there is a silouhetted character who is about to jump off of the rooftop but changes their mind as they listen to the music. I like the concept of having a seres of background events that should demand the musician's attention, each one becoming more and more ridiculous, and the musician just keeps playing oblivious to everything.
